14 day Summer Camp Expedition (14-17 year olds)

Your action packed holiday offers the challenges of expeditions together with the full-on fun of a summer camp.

Expedition phases:

Mountain trek - 2 days and nights in the mountains with wild camping

Sea kayak journey – learn new skills to paddle your own kayak on a sea journey

Survival on an island – put skills learnt into practice and bivi out under the stars…

Cape Wrath Expedition - let it all come together on the final expedition to Britain’s northwest tip…

Between expedition phases there are stimulating activities that help you work towards the next expedition phase, as well as, rest and relaxation time to catch up with other adventurers back at the centre.

Other activities include:

Climbing and abseiling on a wild empty crag

Survival Skills - learn to build a shelter, discover edible wild plants, shellfish, find water and make fire

Orienteering to win vital equipment for Survival night on an island

Land yachting, surfing and volley ball on a beautiful sandy beach

Join in at our local Highland Games as runner, jumper or part of the Cape Adventure tug a war team!

Parent Guide

"Adventurers" develop new skills by being involved in the planning of expedition phases. They will come face to face with realistic challenges and be responsible for parts of the expedition, under the watchful eye of our trained and qualified instructors.

They will benefit from being part of a lively team of young people keen to achieve. The expedition will include reviews in order to assess personal and team achievements whilst allowing time to catch up and relax.

The John Muir Award - Cape Adventure is located in a Special Area of Conservation and UK's first designated Geopark. We run the John Muir Award to help adventurers develop a balanced environmental viewpoint. The award is guided by our staff and recorded in adventurers own style.
