Multi Activity Holiday for Adults

Discover and explore this stunningly beautiful corner of northwest Sutherland by taking part in a range of stimulating activities set in a unique location leaving you refreshed and keen for more….

What you can expect from your holiday with Cape Adventure…

Saturday We will meet you at the Rhiconich Hotel at 3.00 pm. Drive to our car park; unload your equipment into our vehicle, then a 10 minute walk on footpath to Cape Adventure. (Please note it is not possible to drive to our base.) Settle in and meet our staff over a cup of tea at Cape Adventure, followed by an introductory walk to see the areas we will walk, climb and kayak during the week.

Sunday Ben Stack (721m) and Strath Stack
Climb Ben Stack from the north side and descend southwards towards Achfary. Near the base of the mountain, pick up the path along Strath Stack, passing through woodland that leads to the upper Glen and back to your starting point.

Monday Rock Climbing and Orienteering
Climb and abseil in the morning on a natural crag. The climbs appeal to all levels and abilities. After lunch, essential navigation skills are learnt to orienteer across a wild area.

Tuesday Sea Kayaking
Learn skills and becoming familiar with the sea kayaks in Loch a'Chad-Fi, building up to a sea safari around the sheltered sea loch in the afternoon. There is the option to camp out for the night and return to Cape Adventure in the afternoon on Wednesday.

Wednesday Coastal Walk (Sandwood Bay) or extra day sea kayaking
Follow the cliff top from Sheigra, the most northwesterly settlement of mainland Britain to Sandwood Bay with its wide sweep of golden sand. A former stopping off point for Viking long ships. Return across the moor along the old peat track.

Thursday Mountain Expedition Arkle or The Foinaven Ridge
End the week with a mountain day on Arkle or the Foinaven Ridge. Enjoy spectacular views to the Outer Hebrides to the west and deep into the ancient Dionnard Valley to the northeast. Descend to the Rhiconich Hotel to celebrate your week's achievements.

Friday
Depart after breakfast

N.B. The programme may vary due to weather conditions.

“We both enjoyed all the activities and had fun while doing them…..the highlight of this summer. Your hospitality was first class, I only wish I could spare the time to spend longer.” Malcolm Deans
