6 day Summer Camp
(12-17 year olds)

Your fun action packed holiday offers real challenges, exciting activities and wild adventures with other young people from around the world.

A Mountain Expedition - wild camping at the foot of the mountain you climb the next day

Sea kayaking – learn to paddle your own kayak in the sheltered sea loch amongst islands rich in birdlife

Climbing and Abseiling on a wild empty crag with breath taking views out to sea

‘Search to Survive’ – orienteer to win vital equipment for Survival night

Cape Team Challenge – a head to head team competition including team tasks, raft building and raft race

Landyachting on one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Scotland

Surfing in the fresh west coast surf

Survival Skills - learn how to build your own shelter, discover edible wild plants, shellfish and seaweed, find water and make a fire

And Survival on an uninhabited island, put skills learnt into practice and sleep out under the stars…

We are located in the wild northwest Highlands of Scotland, surrounded by an ancient mountain landscape that has remained virtually unchanged since the glaciers retreated over 10,000 years ago. Our remote centre lies on the sheltered shores of Loch A'Chad-Fi, a sea loch peppered with islands eager to disclose their magic and share their secrets. This is a land that lends itself to true adventure.

Parent Guide

Are you looking for a true wilderness adventure, full of exploration, discovery and exciting activities, with real learning opportunities?

Cape Adventure provides a positive, safe learning environment. Being parents ourselves we fully understand the responsibility of looking after young people.

Our experienced, qualified and friendly staff work alongside adventurers throughout the holiday, offering help and support whilst teaching new skills.

Our holidays help individuals to grow through their experiences, gaining self confidence whilst developing a sense of ownership and responsibility amongst their peers. Qualities such as initiative and speed of thought are encouraged. Self reliance, self discipline and control are often called upon. New challenges are faced, skills developed and friendships forged.

The John Muir Award - Cape Adventure is located in a Special Area of Conservation and UK's first designated Geopark. We run the John Muir Award to help adventurers develop a balanced environmental viewpoint. The award is guided by our staff and recorded in adventurers own style.

This holiday fulfils the criteria for Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential.

"The boys had a fantastic time - they haven't stopped talking about it and love telling everyone what they have been up to. They are already talking about going on one of your adult holidays when they are old enough. Your instructors certainly made a great impression on them too and are to be commended for their work."
